Reviews Policy
Last updated: 12 July 2026
1. What reviews are
Reviews on Firmlocator are first-hand opinions from people who have dealt with a listed business. A review is a 1–5 star rating with free text. Reviews are different from complaints: a review is public feedback, while a complaint is an internal moderation escalation handled privately.
2. Who can post a review
Anyone with genuine experience of the business may leave a review. Each submission passes an automated anti-spam check and AI safety screening before it can appear. We allow one review per email address per business.
3. Content rules
- Write about your own genuine experience with this specific business.
- No personal attacks, harassment, hate speech, threats or extortion.
- No third-party personal data (private addresses, phone numbers, ID numbers).
- No advertising, links, promo codes or content unrelated to the business.
- No false statements of fact presented as truth. Honest criticism and negative opinions are welcome.
4. How moderation works
Every review is screened by an automated safety model the moment it is submitted. Clearly genuine reviews are published immediately. Anything the model is unsure about is held for a human moderator before it can appear. We may hide or remove a published review that later turns out to break these rules.
5. Business owner replies
A verified business owner may post one public reply per review from their portal. The reply appears beneath the review and follows the same content rules. Owners cannot edit or delete a customer's review; they can reply to it or report it.
6. Reporting a review
If you believe a review breaks these rules, you can report it via contact@firmlocator.com or the report link on the listing. We review every report editorially and do not remove reviews automatically. Commercial disputes between a customer and a business are handled through the complaints process, not by deleting honest feedback.
7. Your data and deletion
We store the reviewer name shown publicly and, privately, the email and technical signals used for anti-abuse (never shown publicly). You can request deletion of your own review at any time via contact@firmlocator.com. As with other platforms, the numeric rating may continue to count towards the business's aggregate even after the text is removed. See the Privacy Policy for retention details.
